About Us

What does the name "redgreenapples" symbolize? The red & green represent the chili pepper & peppercorn combination of spices from the famous Sichuan style of cooking. The chili pepper is spicy and often prepared in a red sauce. On the other hand, the peppercorns cause a slight numbing effect in the mouth and are sometimes prepared in a green sauce. The combination of these two is known as "Ma La" in Mandarin Chinese and essentially a requirement for Sichuan food.

The word "apples" symbolize the clean, sweet, fresh sensation of a dessert.

We've worked hard, tried many bad meals and dedicated lots of time testing restaurants all over the world...

Our mission is to help you have the best restaurant experience, given where you are and what you crave.

Company History

We've been around the restaurant business for many years, from both the service-side and customer-side points of view. While our focus is testing Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Armenian foods, we're also good at identifying restaurants that serve great Italian, French, Latino and many other cuisines. Our ability is a result of our unique method to select restaurants for review, our many years' experience testing and our special method for calculating the rating.
